The World Bank Scholarship Programme is now accepting applications from students interested in pursuing a master’s degree in development-related fields.

The World Bank Scholarships Programme is currently open for students planning to start their master’s degrees in 2025. It provides funding for 45 different master’s programmes at 27 universities located in the US, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and Japan.

Some of the participating universities include The University of Tokyo, Australian National University, Columbia University, Harvard University, and the University of Oxford, along with several others.

This programme is designed for international students from developing countries who want to focus on development-related studies. Eligible countries include Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Dominica, Ethiopia, Fiji, Ghana, Iraq, Kenya, Lebanon, Madagascar, Nepal, the Philippines, Sudan, Tonga, Ukraine, Vietnam, Yemen, Zambia, and many more.

Successful scholarship recipients will receive several benefits, such as:

  • Round-trip economy class airfare at the start and end of their studies
  • A $500 travel allowance for each trip
  • Full coverage of tuition fees
  • Basic medical insurance provided by their university
  • A monthly living stipend to help with accommodation, daily expenses, and study materials

Applicants must be enrolled in a development-related field, which could include subjects like conflict studies, education policy, health systems, urban design, public health, climate change, environmental resources, sustainability, and more.

Selection is based on factors like professional experience, recommendation letters, a strong commitment to contributing to their home country’s development, and academic background.
