Becoming a teacher for the next generation is a fulfilling and stable career choice. The paths to becoming a qualified teacher differ quite a bit depending on the country.

In Australia, universities offer postgraduate teacher training programs, such as the Graduate Diploma of Education or the Master of Teaching.

But education isn’t just about teacher training — it can be studied at many levels here. Education as a field combines subjects like sociology, politics, history, and psychology to explore various education-related topics, from social mobility to global education policies.

Many Australian universities offer undergraduate education degrees, which usually last four years.

Below is a list of the best Australian universities for education degrees, according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024.
